Debt Cousellors to Help with Debt

If you are over indebted and can no longer meet your monthly financial obligations to your credit providers it may seem as if there is no way out and that you are in over your head. There are however a variety of ways in which you can receive help with debt and begin clearing away the mountains of statements so that you can begin seeing light at the end of the tunnel. One of these ways is to contact a registered debt counsellor who can enter you into the debt review process in accordance with the National Credit Act of June 2007. Debt review is not the same as liqidation or declaring bankruptcy and has many advantages to assist you in settling your debt as quickly and as painlessly as possible.

In fact, the only disadvantage to debt counselling is that you will not be able to enter into any new credit agreements or create new debt during the period of debt review. This means that the credit agencies across the country will be informed of your status so that any person accessing your credit records will be aware that you undergoing debt counselling. It will also mean that you will have to destroy all your credit cards as well as store cards. Remember that the person offering you help with debt is there to give you the best advice and that following that advice will ensure that your debt is cleared.

It is also imperative that you submit all the documentation required by your debt counsellor for your application in order for the debt review to be successful. If your application is rejected, find out why it was rejected so that you rectify the situation and re-apply. Any person who is over indebted can apply for debt counselling regardless of their income or current debt status.
